Real estate developer Intracorp and the 44 East Ave project will host a groundbreaking and fundraiser demolition party for the new development from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at 44 East Avenue in the Rainey Street district.
With a donation to the Trail Foundation, the nonprofit dedicated to protecting and enhancing the Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail at Lady Bird Lake, participants can spray paint on the building exterior or use a hammer or sledgehammer to swing at the walls of the building.
Each demolition method is determined by the donation level: $25 for spray paint, $50 for a hammer and $100 for a sledgehammer. The latter two levels also include an annual membership to the Trail Foundation.
Proceeds will benefit the foundation, and Intracorp will match up to $50,000.
